Regardless of how well trained they are, Afghan Hounds have an unpredictable nature and tend to rely more on their instinct. This breed is not suitable for inactive families and is not recommended for apartment life.The Afghan Hound averages 25-28 inches high, weighs between 50-60 pounds and has a life expectancy of ten to twelve years. They are sensitive to chemicals and medications and can have health problems including thyroid problems, OCD, and autoimmune problems.
