Border Collie

Number of views (143)

The Border Collie is loyal, dedicated, faithful and affectionate to his family.  Highly intelligent and trainable, the Border Collie has a good temperment and nature.  It is a very agile dog with plenty of stamina and determination who is eager to please and very quick to learn.  This makes it of the most trainable of all breeds.  The Border Collie has strong herding instincts and the high energy levels can make it hyperactive but if it gets the right amount of attention, exercise and mental stimulation that can be relieved.  Without a high level of mental and physical stimulation (running, biking, fetching, walking) it will not fare well.

The Border Collie weighs in between 30-50 pounds and is about 17-20 inches high and has a life expectancy of 13-15 years.  Health issues associated with this breed are deafness, seizures, allergies, epilepsy, cataracts, OCD, PRA, and HD.
