Dogs Unite

We have had a terrible week. A little boy drowned in the pond behind our home when his parents weren’t watching him and had left their gate open for him to wander out of. It took an army of emergency personell and law enforcement two hours to find him because the pond was so murky. It underscores for me how important it is for me, my kids and my dogs to not swim in a murky pond because if you blackout, panic or can’t swim for whatever reason, people cannot see you to find you. In this case, the poor little one was only 4 feet under water but could not be seen. Of course, common sense also dictates that you don’t swim alone. But, with a deep, murky pond, it is still incredibly dangerous even with help nearby.
