Dog’s feet are not weather proof. Snow is especially harsh. Snow can ball up in-between the dogs toes and cause irritation, cuts and tenderness. Dogs often chew at this frozen snow, pulling out fur and in some cases chunks of their pads. Yes, certain conditions produce sticky, wet snow. In these conditions the snow will ball up in-between the dogs toes and cause irritation, cuts and tenderness. Puddles? Yuck!
Even if your dog likes to sip on muddy water as if it were the finest champagne, at this time of year puddles are easily polluted with antifreeze which is highly toxic when ingested.

WARNING: there is a spate of animals being bought for dog baiting in the Sidcup/Kent areas. Potential owners are snapping up pets needing homes for free/cheap, all their phones and homes are bogus.

PLEASE, PLEASE DON’T ALLOW YOUR DOGS TO RUN ONTO ICY PONDS, LAKES, RIVERS AND CANALS.
Every year many dogs die by falling through ice and drowning, some of the owners die as well trying to rescue them.
Last winter, a dear friend had to watch her Border Collie die under the ice on a canal, scratching desperately under the ice trying to get out.…[Read more]-
Totally agree. We have our pond in back ice covered. It freezes and thaws each week. Not good for our furry friend.

It’s great to have Paddy back home after his 3rd operation on his leg. Hopefully that will be the last one and we can get back to normal. He’s now got 4 weeks off from training, he can go on the treadmill though for some gentle walking and he should be fit for the start of the season.
