Dog Rescue 4 weeks agoSweet Fur Ball needs temp foster. Weighs about 1 pound. Recently separated from his Husky mother. Very laid back. Just wants to hang out all day. He can be clingy though.

Dog Rescue 1 month, 3 weeks agoThese are some pics of posie, a miniature poodle I rescued from Mexico. She eventually went to a great home after we resolved all her many health problems. Although I generally prefer larger dogs, I have found a special love of miniature poodles – such smart dogs – easy to train.

People do crazy things when they become obsessed with fleas. I could not sleep at all for weeks because I was the obsessed with the idea that the fleas were in my bed – this was after washing sheets in hot water every night with clorox!

I have heard that the vaccine for kennel cogh actually causes caughing in some cases and does not help dogs in any case. is this true?

I was lold that kennel cough vaccine works in about 60% of cases. I think it’s a bit like flu vaccine for humans – ther are SO many strains, constantly mutating, that it would be very difficult (and expensive) to have a vaccine that prevented all cases.

Yikes and Yuck – I hadn’t thought of tapeworms. Parasites are pretty common among dogs in general and there are few things grosser than tapeworms! I guess we should all (humans included) have an annual worm cleanout? I know, I know….nobody likes to think about this issue – me included.

And it is possible to transmit the inspection to your family. That’s why it is super important to wash your hands regularly and make sure the floors have been disinfected – esp. if you have young children crawling around on the floor.
